LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party Central Punjab General Secretary Syed Hassan Murtaza on Monday said that "blue eyed plus" did not want election but PPP wanted the polls on time.

Talking to media, the Pakistan People's Party leader said that Maryam Aurangzeb's press conference was based on euphoria and wishful thinking. 'PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif landed on Minar-e-Pakistan because he thought that the ‘selection’ field was cleared,' the PPP leader added. He alleged that Nawaz Sharif, in his desire for ‘selection’, did not consider it appropriate to demand the date of the election.

He added that right now, there is a question mark on Nawaz Sharif's participation in election. “How he can become the prime minister again and how he can solve the problems of the people”.

Murtaza said that Nawaz should ask about the performance of 16-month government from Ishaq Dar. He said that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was present in the election field from the beginning. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said was the only leader who repeated the demand for the election date and level playing field at every forum.
