Official presents hospital’s performance report to PM

PESHAWAR: Director of Khyber Teaching Hospital Dr Muhammad Zafar Afridi met Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar in Islamabad and presented a three-year performance report of the hospital.

According to a handout issued here, the prime minister acknowledged the changes and advancements in the hospital, along with its healthcare services.

Dr Afridi also presented a model of the Khyber Pass as a gift to the prime minister. Kakar recognised the dedication of the hospital’s administration, acknowledging its significant role as a model healthcare institution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Dr Afridi shared a list of pending development projects and budget-related challenges. The acting premier assured Dr Afridi that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would allocate more funds to address these needs.

According to the statement, the prime minister commended various initiatives, such as the construction of a new OPD building, modular operation theatre, an emergency building, Pakistan’s first helium-free MRI machine, and an ISO-certified general hospital.

Dr Zafar Afridi extended an invitation to the prime minister to visit Khyber Teaching Hospital as the chief guest for the inauguration of the newly constructed ICU complex, Cath Lab, and Pakistan’s first 1.5-tesla helium-free MRI machine.Kakar pledged to visit the hospital during his next trip to Peshawar to address the hospital’s challenges as a government priority for providing quality medical services.
