Book on KP natural resources launched
PESHAWAR: Speakers at a book launching ceremony called for exploiting untapped natural resources of the province and also urged authorities concerned to take steps for perseveration and justifiable usage of the available assets.
The call was made during a book titled ‘Pakhtunkhwa Ke Wasail’ (Resources of Pakhtunkhwa) launching event, a research treatise in Urdu by senior journalist and poet Shams Momand. The event was arranged at the Peshawar Press Club, which was attended by provincial heads of political leaders, literati, rights activists and civil society members.
Awami National Party leader, Mian Iftikhar Hussain on the occasion pointed out that it had been his party line since long that the province should be given the right over its natural resources but unfortunately , people of KP had not been given that right.
Prof Abaseen Yousafzai in his remarks stated that Shams Momand had authored a comprehensive book on the tapped and untapped resources with an objective to educate youth on the most important issue.
It was now the duty of the stakeholders, including political leaders, senior authorities andexperts to follow the guidelines given in the book.The book spans over 120 pages and highlights tapped and untapped natural resources in the province.
Shams Momand while thanking the participants said that he had gathered information and with authentic references regarding the natural resources with an unbiased view so that the province could get its due right and share in utilizing resources and opportunities.
