Power theft detected at Bheer Village

LAHORE:As part of the Lesco’s ongoing anti-theft campaign, the College Road Sub-Division’s SDO Ahmed Raza Bajwa found power theft here in 10 houses in Bheer Village, Johar Town.

Lesco spokesman said here Sunday that residents of those houses were stealing electricity by hooking on main transmission line; however, the inspection team disconnected the illegal power supply. The Lesco team took into its custody all the four meters installed there and submitted an application with local police for registration of cases against the accused. He mentioned that proceedings were initiated to charge the accused with detection bills.

Over Rs8.6m recovered from 341 defaulters

Meanwhile, Lesco in collaboration with Tehsildars recovered Rs8.6 million from 341 dead defaulters in all the five districts- Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara- on the 53rd day of its recovery campaign.

Lesco spokesman told media that Chief Engineer O&M (T&G) with the support of Tehsildar City and Tehsildar Shalimar recovered outstanding dues of Rs1.23 million from 44 defaulters in Northern Circle and Rs2.17 million from 48 defaulters in Eastern Circle respectively. Similarly,

Wattoo along with Tehsildars recovered Rs0.96 million from 27 defaulters in Central Circle and Rs0.03 million from two defaulters in South Circle, while Manager (Technical) Engineer Muhammad Farooq with the assistance of Tehsildars recovered Rs0.66 million from 35 defaulters in Nankana Circle and Rs1.16 million from 59 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle. He added that Lesco Manager E&S (PMU) Engineer Abbas Ali in collaboration with Naib Tehsildars recovered outstanding dues of Rs0.48 million from 57 defaulters in Okara Circle and Rs1.91 million from 69 defaulters in Kasur Circle.
