In collaboration with the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi ACP), the Education and Awareness Institute will organise a two-day festival for children to promote child learning and healthy activities for children.

A press conference held on Saturday at the ACP announced that the Pakistan Learning Festival 2023 would be held on November 7 and 8 at the ACP.

Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmad Shah, educationists Baela Raza Jameel and Rumana Hussain and others addressed the press conference.

Shah lamented that the children were largely ignored in the country and only few people were working for children.

He stressed the need for creating high-quality literature for the children. He said holding a festival for the children was a noble cause because it would expose children to positive activities.

He remarked that the festival would make children happy and foster their creativity.

Baela said the Pakistan Learning Festival was a literature festival for children. She added that their mission was to empower people of all ages through education and build a community dedicated to thinking and critical pursuits of lifelong learning.

She said the festival would serve as a platform that would promote curiosity and creativity among children and adults alike.

It was announced that among other sessions, the festival would have a collaborative storytelling session about the ongoing crisis in Palestine featuring a book by a Palestinian author titled ‘The Whistling Bird: A Gaza Story’.

The story would be read out by Rumana and Bina Shah to raise awareness among children.

A total of 15 illustrated story books for children would also be launched during the festival by the Literacy Project (PLP), which aims to promote the national language among a wider audience. The festival will feature interactive workshops, panel discussions, creative exhibitions, and storytelling sessions to stimulate the intellectual and artistic potential of the attendees.
