Fazl’s unannounced dash to Gaza?
ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has dashed to Gaza for providing assistance to the Palestinians who are under attack by Israel, sources close to Maulana Fazl said on Saturday.
The sources said Fazl was the first religio-political leader from any Muslim country who has embarked upon the war-zone. They said “the movement of Maulana Fazl has been kept secret since he wanted to reach the devastated people quietly and offer them assistance.” He is carrying food and medicines with him, they added.
Well-placed sources close to the Maulana Fazl told The News here Saturday that after addressing a mammoth rally in Karachi ‘Toofan Al-Aqsa March’ and ‘Sindh Aman Conference,’ Fazl left for “some destination” from where he would reach the oppressed people.
When contacted, the spokesman of JUIF, Aslam Ghauri, confirmed the information about Fazl travelling to Gaza but failed to provide details in this regard.
