KHAR: The elders and political leaders on Saturday pledged to extend cooperation to the district administration, police and security in maintaining Bajaur tribal district.
The assurance came at a jirga held at the Bajaur Scouts Headquarters with Deputy Commissioner Anwarul Haq and District Police Officer Kashif Zulfiqar.
The Ulema, members of the legal fraternity, officials from district administration, security forces, elders and local political leaders attended the jirga.
The elders and politicians apprised the authorities of the issues being confronted by the people, including law and order situation, rising incidents of target killing, drugs, lack of security arrangements in bazars, registration of non-custom paid vehicles, Mamad Gat to Timergara road and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the officials said that no one would be allowed to take law into their hands and create a law and order situation.
They said that all issues related to the district administration would be resolved soon and sought the help of people from all walks of life to make the district a cradle of peace.
