PESHAWAR: The Department of Family Medicine Khyber Medical University (KMU), MTI Hayatabad medical complex and Khyber Girls Medical College (KGMC) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote health care education and training.
KMU VC Prof Dr. Ziaul Haq, Dr. Abdul Jalil Khan, Head Department of Family Medicine, Prof. Dr. Shehzad Akbar, Medical Director HMC and Prof Dr Zahid Aman of KGMC signed the MoU. Dr. Kashif, Dr. Wajid Ali, Dr. Nazir, Dr Shamshad, and Dr. Ambreen of HMC and senior faculty members were also present at the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, VC KMU Prof DrZiaul Haq said, “We are delighted to share an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to enhance healthcare education and delivery.”
“This partnership is a significant step forward in our mission to provide structured clinical training in various specialties at the Hayatabad Medical Complex for the Family Medicine Programme and KMU. We sincerely thank HMC for joining hands with KMU in our collective efforts to strengthen the healthcare system,” he said, adding, it was very important to recognise the important role of primary care. He said that the world’s most successful health care models depend on a strong foundation of primary care.
