50 men, women arrested from brothel
LAHORE:Civil Line police on Friday arrested 50 men and women from a brothel on charges of merrymaking.
The police received an information that a person named Abdul Jabbar was secretly running a brothel in Royal Inn Hotel. On receiving the information, the police raided and arrested 50 men and women from the hotel.
Man arrested for raping woman
Shadman police arrested a man on charges of raping a woman under the false pretense of a job opportunity. The accused Shahroz contacted the victim a few days ago on social media and lured her into the job. The accused took her to a room in Tollinton Market and raped her.
Woman sustains bullet injury at bus stop
A woman standing at the bus stop sustained a bullet wound when the security guard of a petrol pump accidentally pulled the trigger of his gun in Nishtar Colony area on Friday. The woman identified as Zareena Zafar was admitted to a local hospital. The police detained the security guard for questioning.
Minister takes notice of protest
Provincial Transport Minister Ibrahim Hasan Murad took notice of the protest of metro bus employees and directed the Secretary PMA to resolve the issues immediately. On which Secretary PMA Farooq Sadiq informed the provincial minister that the protest has been ended, the track was restored and the contractor has been strictly bound to ensure the payment of the employees' salaries. Secretary PMA further said that there was a little delay in the process of salaries from the contractor.
Newborn’s body found
The body of a newborn baby boy was found in the limits of Ghaziabad police on Friday. Some locals spotted the body lying in the heap of garbage and informed the police. It was believed that an unidentified woman had thrown her illegitimate baby in the garbage to conceal her sin. The police shifted the body to the morgue and started searching for the person who had dumped the body.
Senior citizen dies
A 65-year-old senior citizen, who was found unconscious in Shadman area two days ago, died in the hospital on Friday. The victim, yet to be identified, had fallen prey to some unidentified swindlers who served him some poisonous substance, as a result he went unconscious. He was admitted to a local hospital where he expired. His body was shifted to the morgue.
