Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi takes oath as SHC acting CJ

Sindh High Court senior judge Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi took the oath as acting chief justice of the high court in a ceremony on Friday.
Justice Nadeem Akhtar administered the oath to the acting CJ at the SHC. The ceremony was attended by the judges of the high court, federal and provincial law officers, and bar representatives.
Justice Abbasi was appointed acting chief justice after the elevation of acting chief justice Irfan Saadat Khan to the Supreme Court. Justice Abbasi will work as acting CJ till the appointment of a regular chief justice by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan. He was elevated to a judge of the SHC on September 25, 2009 and he is the most senior judge of the court.
