Forgotten all pain, Pakistan top priority: Nawaz
LAHORE: Former prime minister and PMLN Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday said he had forgotten all the pain that he suffered and now his immediate priority was Pakistan.
“We are not May 9 people but the people of May 28. If Allah wills, I will lead the country towards improvement. Even if I criticise any institution, I do it positively and within the framework of Constitution,” he said during a special meeting with the Muslim League (N) UK President Zubair Gul.
Inviting Zubair Gul to participate in the PMLN general body meeting on Saturday, Nawaz said his party was getting into the full election mode. “I have returned to Pakistan with the desire to serve the nation,” he said.
Appreciating the services of Muslim League (N) in the UK and overseas, he said overseas Pakistanis were a valuable capital who supported their motherland in every difficult time.
The former prime minister said his relationship with the people of Pakistan spanning decades remained unchanged.
“Pakistan is our country. I was born here and its love is in my heart. I have no desire for revenge but all the state pillars have to work together according to the Constitution,” said the PMLN Quaid.
He said the country could not move forward without all working together.
“Everyone will have to come together. The ‘basic disease’ due to which the country is prone to frequent accidents will have to be removed,” he added.
