RAWALPINDI: PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s personal physician Dr Faisal Sultan Thursday said there was no apparent indication that Imran Khan was being slow-poisoned in the jail. He made these remarks while talking to reporters after meeting with Imran in the Adiala Jail.
Sultan said neither the PTI chairman was under the influence of poisoning nor was he being given poison. “The former prime minister is hale and hearty,” he said, adding that he met him and found him fit.
Meanwhile, recording his statement with the JIT, Imran Khan Thursday denied his involvement in the May 9 violent riots and said he was in jail when the incident occurred.
The statement was recorded in the presence of his lawyers.
The JIT, led by SSP (Operations) Rawalpindi Faisal Saleem, comprised SP (Potohar) Waqas Khan, DSP (New Town) Malik Allah Yar, an inspector and a sub-inspector.
The JIT remained in the jail for 45 minutes and grilled Imran.
The people engaged in investigation said Imran straightaway rejected the allegations about his involvement in the violence and responded to the questions momentarily and parried tricky and confusing queries.
