Prisoner hanged in Faisalabad jail

FAISALABAD: A condemned prisoner was hanged in the Central Jail here on Tuesday.
Before going to the gallows, a meeting of prisoner Adeel Shahzad was arranged with 40 members of his family by the jail authorities. He repented for committing the crime. The convict had killed Zahida Naseem and her children Aqsa, Zohaib and Tayab over a minor issue on February 18, 2001. He was awarded death sentence by an ATC judge 15 years ago. His appeals were rejected by the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court. The president had also turned down his mercy appeal.
Doctors observe strike against UC chairman

FAISALABAD: Doctors of the Civil Hospital on Tuesday observed strike against the UC chairman.
They closed the OPD from 10:30am to 2pm. They assembled in front of the hospital and demanded immediate arrest of Dhuddiwala UC Chairman Pervaiz Kamoka, who was also the Traders Allied Group president, on the charges of manhandling operation theatre doctors with the help of his supporters some days ago.
Meanwhile, addressing a meeting, DHQ Hospital Young Doctors Association president Dr Najaf Pasha, PMA general secretary Dr Khurram Sohail Raja and Faisalabad Young Doctors Association president Dr Maroof Vaince warned of closing all departments of the Civil and Allied hospitals if the accused UC chairman was not arrested.
Jobless man commits suicide in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A jobless man committed suicide here on Tuesday.
Falak Sher, a resident of Fish Farm, Satiana Road, had been jobless for the last one year. Despite his efforts, he could not get even a petty job. On the day of the incident, he ended his life by swallowing poisonous pills.
Jilted youth commits suicide

FAISALABAD: A jilted youth commits suicide at Chak 424/GB, Tandlianwala, on Monday night.
The jilted youth ended his life by shooting himself after his beloved was wedded to another man. Police have shifted the body to the Allied Hospital for autopsy.
