The Women Wing of the Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) organised a march in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Wednesday, urging leaders to play a more active role in support of the Palestinians against Israeli war crimes.

The march saw a significant turnout of women from various walks of life. Participants carried placards and banners, and they chanted slogans against the Zionist regime and its supporters worldwide.

During the event, many children also joined in, raising placards and showcasing artwork that depicted the hardships faced by Palestinians and the brutality of Israel. While addressing the march, Karachi JI chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasised that while Karachiites might not be able to directly join the ranks of Hamas freedom fighters, they could still raise their voices and provide support for the people of Palestine. He questioned the role of Western states in the Palestinian issue and praised the sane voices raised worldwide in support of the people of Gaza.

He criticised the United States and other Western countries for what he saw as hypocrisy and double standards, highlighting the contrast between how parents were treated for disciplining their children in the West versus the situation in Palestine.

Rehman noted that the Muslim Ummah’s hearts resonate with the people of Palestine, but the rulers in the Muslim world have failed to reflect these aspirations. The women’s march’s main demand was for leaders to take a bold stance against Israel’s actions in Palestine.

The JI leader also stressed that Israel had been committing crimes against humanity in Palestine, with men and women of all ages being arrested and held in very small cells. He credited Hamas for its efforts for advocating for their release.

Furthermore, he called on the army chief to play a more active role in support of the oppressed Palestinian people. He appealed to the people of Karachi to raise their voice and generously donate for the relief of the Palestinian population.
