The CDA is presently widening the expressway at PWD, Soan Garden and River Gardens. This is an appreciable job on the part of the CDA and will surely provide convenience to people residing on both sides of the expressway. However, the CDA is required to look into some problems faced by the residents of various societies located on the banks of the under expansion road. There are some societies lacking direct access to the expressway. There are various points like Fazaia, Shakrial and Kurri Road where people were given direct access to the expressway. This is good and the same facility should be extended to residents of River Gardens, Pakistan Town, etc.
Another issue is related to the non-availability of pedestrian bridges at densely populated points like Toot Stop, Pakistan Town, Soan Garden, River Gardens, Kak Pul, and T Chowk. Many people have lost their lives while crossing the expressway. The CDA should look into these issues on a priority basis.
