KARACHI: Irum Khan has been named to lead Sindh women softball team in National Women Softball Championship, which will be held from April 15 to 18 in Quetta.
Sindh Softball Association (SSA) president Jahangir Mughal on Monday announced the team and the officials.
The team was selected after trials were conducted in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
The selection committee comprised Imran Zaman, Ayesha Irum, Mohammad Nasir and Faraz Ijaz.
“We have prepared a strong team for the national championship and we believe our team will give tough time to the competitors,” Jahangir said.
He added that SSA had provided everything to the players to prepare well for the national championship.
He said that SSA would distribute cash prizes among the players who performed well in the national event.
The team will leave for Quetta on April 13. The teams in action will be Army, Sindh, Punjab, KP, Balochistan and Islamabad.
