PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Prosecutors on Monday set a week deadline to the provincial government to fulfill their demands or else protest drive will be launched.
The charter of demands was presented at the office-bearers meeting of Prosecution Welfare Association with its president Said Naeem Khan in the chair. General Secretary Javed Ali Mohmand and joint secretary Sangeen Shah were also present at the meeting, said a press release.
They demanded the government to announce proper service structure, up-gradation and provision of perks and privileges to the prosecutors. The prosecutors also demanded proper quota in high court and construction of separate offices for the prosecutors in all the courts across province.
The joint secretary Sangeen Shah said government has completely ignored the prosecutors who, according to him, were facing immense problems due to non-existence of service structure. He said the government should meet their demands within a week time or else they would launch a protest drive.
