Aqeel eases into tennis tourney semi-finals

KARACHI: Top seed Aqeel Khan eased into the semi-finals of men’s singles event when he thrashed his quarter-final opponent Muzamil Murtaza in straight sets in the Modern Club Founder Members National Ranking tennis championship here at the Modern Club on Sunday.
Aqeel found little resistance from Muzamil and recorded a convincing 6-0, 6-1 triumph.
In under-14 singles semi-final, Amin Shafi overpowered Rayyan Jawwad in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
In under-12 semi-finals, Mohammad Yahya defeated Asher Mir 8-6, while Ibrahim Khan beat Mahad 8-1 score to confirm their presence in the final.
