Two of a family killed in car-truck collision

OKARA: Two members of a family were killed and three others, including two women, were injured in a collision between a car and a truck at City Bypass near Chak 5/4-L on Saturday.
Chaudhry Aslam of Gujranwala and his relatives Zahoor Ahmad, Rustam, Manzooran and Tasleem were going to Chichawatni when a truck collided with their car. As a result, Chaudhry Aslam and Zahoor were killed on the spot while Rustam, Manzooran and Tasleem were injured. The injured people were shifted to the DHQ Hospital from where they were referred to the Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, due to their critical condition. Sadr police have registered a case and started investigation.
WOMAN RAPED: A woman was raped on a pretext of providing job.
Shahid had brotherly relations with Rauf Raheel, a rickshaw driver of Sahiwal and used to visit his house. Shahid offered Rauf to get his wife employed somewhere. On Saturday, Shahid came to the house of Rauf in his absence and took his wife to the house of Nargis at Chak 53/2-L, Okara, to provider her job. After reaching there, Shahid called M Amin, who also arrived there. Later, Amin with the help of Shahid and Nargis allegedly raped the wife of Rauf. Okara Sadr police have registered a case and started investigation.
WOMAN TORTURED: A woman was tortured by her husband and father-in-law after she refused to return to her house here.
Maria had been living with her father. On Saturday, her husband Arif and father-in-law came there to take her with them but she refused. It infuriated Arif and his father and they allegedly tortured Maria. She was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, in a critical condition.
86 POWER THIEVES BOOKED: A Lesco checking team got cases registered against 86 power thieves in different police stations.
During raids, the Lesco team found power theft at 86 places at Chak 31/D, 40/D, 20/1AL, Dharmewala, Rajowal and Haveli. Those booked include Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Akram, Fayyaz, Latif, Nawaz, Qutab Wali, Riaz, Nasir, Maqsood Ahmad and Muhammad Yar.
