Secretary shows displeasure over
poor facilities at DHQ hospital

CHAKWAL: Punjab Mineral Secretary Dr Arshad Mehmood Saturday visited the DHQ Hospital and found inadequate facilities for patients.
DCO Mehmood Javed Bhatti, EDO Health Dr Alam Gir Nawabi were also with the secretary. Dr Arshad visited operation theatre, emergency, labour room and OPD and expressed his displeasure over inadequate facilities at the hospital. MS Dr Ahsan Naveen told the secretary that posts of specialists were lying vacant from many years and there is also a shortage of paramedical staff. He said more than 3,000 patients visit the hospital daily, whereas the hospital budget was not fulfilling demands of patients. The secretary said he came following orders of the Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif who wanted to provide maximum health facilities to the common man. He said he would forward his report to the CM about the DHQ Hospital. He also visited the Government Degree College Chakwal (women) to check security arrangements. Deputy Director Colleges Nasir Awan and Vice-Principal Maqsooda Begum also briefed the secretary about the arrangements.
