Dangerous nexus

The start of the military-backed operation against terrorists in Punjab is a reaction rather than a pre-emptive and proactive action. Some quarters have been expressing concern for quite some time about the need to take action against jihadist sleeper cells. A similar situation exists in rural areas of Sindh.

The security situation, lawlessness, politicisation of institutions and economic terrorism will not be controlled unless the nexus between militants and their facilitators is broken. This nexus has left no stone unturned in obstructing the operation against militants and crime/corrupt mafia.
