KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on Thursday said that it has disbursed over Rs7.1 billion to more than 7,500 approved applicant entrepreneurs under the Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Scheme.
The bank issued a statement to clarify incorrect impression created by reports, saying that the PM’s health scheme faced various setbacks and the NBP was reluctant in executing the PM’s Youth Business Loan Scheme.
The bank said that the ratio of disbursement to applicants who were declared successful in the first two ballots and had also accepted the loan offers is more than 80 percent.
In addition, the bank is actively pursuing fresh applications from aspiring young entrepreneurs through a massive direct selling campaign and corporate tie-ups.
