Nishan-e-Haider hockey tournament starts today
KARACHI: Eleven regional teams and Flying Horse, a local Club, are taking part in Riaz Mehar Nishan-i-Haider Hockey Tournament that commences at the Motiullah Stadium in Bahawalpur on Thursday (today).
The tournament is a part of the annual calendar of the PHF.
Tournament director Mohammad Akram said Bahawalpur and Multan would play the opening match of the tournament.
Teams have been divided into four pools which will play their matches under floodlight.
The semi-finals will be played on April 12 and the final on April 13.
Top two teams of the tournament will feature in the departmental round of the event that will be played next month.
Pool A: Bahawalpur, Multan, Hyderabad.
Pool B: Flying Horse, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan.
Pool C: Sargodha, Lahore, Quetta.
Pool D: Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sahiwal.
