‘Enrolment target of kids in govt schools to be achieved’

JHANG: The enrolment target of children in government school will be achieved while laxity and poor performance of Education Department officials will not be tolerated.
It was said by DCO Nadir Chattha while addressing a function held in connection with launching of enrolment of children campaign here on Tuesday. The DCO attended the function as the chief guest organised at the District Council Hall. The ceremony was arranged by the Education Department with the collaboration of the NCHD and a local NGO. MPA Khalid Ghani, EDO Education Zahid Nasim, DO Education Elementary Mrs Kausar Ramay, Deputy Education Officer Nasreen Abdullah, regional coordinator of the project Asif Mughal, Dr Riaz Naul, teachers, parents, journalists, lawyers and others also attended the ceremony. The DCO said that it was need of the hour to bring every child in school for better future of our next generation. He said that the government was increasing enrolment of children in schools on priority basis. He said that science and computer laboratories were also being established in girls’ high schools in the district. The EDO Education said that school enrolment target was successfully achieved during last year. Asif Mughal informed that by following the government’s vision, enrolment campaign was in progress in urban as well as in rural areas of the district, adding that parents’ response was very positive regarding sending their children to schools. Later, the DCO and MPA Khalid Ghani signed enrolment forms of children and distributed free books, copies, school bags and stationary among newly enrolled children.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, the DPO withheld one year service of inspector Muhammad Afzal and one month of SIs Haq Nawaz, Muhammad Asif and ASI Ghulam Shabbir. The DPO issued warning letters to SIs Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Nawaz, Manzoor Ahmed and ASIs Ghulam Shabbir, Abid Hussain, Muhammad Arif, head constable Iftikhar Hussain and 26 other constables.
