Demo against over 18 hours loadshedding in DG Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Hundreds of people staged a demonstration against electricity loadshedding and overbilling in front of the Commissioner Office here on Monday.
The protesters belonging to Chit Daggar, Gaddai, Basti Daddywali, Basti Azeem Chandia and Basti Sattani Loharwala also blocked Kutchery Road for couple of hours to register their protest.
The protesters led by Gaddai Union Council Vice-Chairman Fayyaz Khan Leghari, Muhammad Tariq, Ghulam Fareed, Muhammad Zia, Arif Sial, Ijaz Bandoani, Farooq Leghari, Imran Baloch, Aftab Leghari, Fayyaz Bhand, Malik Zubair, Malik Jehangir, Malik Shaukat and Karam Hussain were chanting slogans against loadshedding and overbilling. They were also carrying placards and banners. They said that 18-20 hours loadshedding had paralysed daily activities of the people.
They alleged that the meter readers put wrong entries while noting units and the officers did not consider the stance of the consumers documented with solid proofs. Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
