Dacoits have a field day in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Dacoits and thieves Saturday took away cash, gold ornaments and valuables from citizens in 23 strikes.
In Ahmadnagar gunmen snatched Rs 22,000, a gold ring and a cell phone from Haseeb. Wahidur Rehman was deprived of Rs 27,000 and three cellphones also in Ahmadnagar. At Tatlewali bandits took away Rs 9,000, a new motorcycles and a cell phone from Rizwan. Rashid was robbed of Rs 27,000 and a cell phone in Alipur Chattha. In Tatlewali gunmen intercepted Naqi and his wife and snatched Rs 16,000, gold ornaments and a cell phone. At Noshera Virkan robbers snatched Rs 17,000, gold ornaments and two cell phones from Kashif and his wife. Moeez was deprived of Rs 22,000 and two cell phones by bandits at Ladhewala. At Qila Didar Singh dacoits took away a new motorcycle of Yasir. Dacoits snatched Rs 13,000 and a cell phone from Azam in Sabzi Mandi area. Latif was deprived of Rs 9,000 and a cell phone at Garjakh. At Khiali bandits snatched Rs 20,000 and a cell phone from Ishrat. In city Kamoke area a loader van of Saqlain was stolen. A car of Dr Waseem was lifted from Wahndo area. Motorcycles of Asad, Luqman, Mudassar, Mohsin, Nawaz, Azher, Kausar, Sohaib, Shabbir and Saeed were stolen from different parts of the city.
EIGHT GANGSTERS HELD: Police Saturday claimed arresting eight members of two dacoit gangs and recovering illegal arms and stolen items from the accused.
Talking to reporters, Peoples Colony circle DSP Muhammad Khan alleged that Saud and Irfan gangs were involved in looting the people in the city and on the instruction of CPO Gujranwala, the SHO Peoples Colony arrested eight members of the gangs.
The police have also recovered 13 stolen motorcycles, eight cell phones, cash, four pistols and hundreds of bullets from them.
MAN SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists on Saturday in Baghbanpura police station limits.
Reportedly, Ali Raza, 30, was heading home when two motorcyclists opened fire at him, leaving him injured critically. He was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he died.
