KHAR: Another victim of Bajaur suicide bomb blast succumbed to his injuries at the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, on Tuesday.
Qari Rahatullah had sustained serious injuries in the Sunday’s bomb explosion, who was then shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, for medical treatment because of his precarious condition.
However, he succumbed to his injuries despite hectic efforts by the doctors to save his life.Qari Rahatullah was a resident of Maminzo and peshimam at a local mosque in Damana in Tangi area.
The death toll from the suicide blast continued to rise as more injured died.The blast had occurred in Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur tribal district bordering Afghanistan.
According to eyewitnesses, hundreds of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl workers along with local leader were present at the convention when the suicide blast ripped through it. The Islamic State-Khorasan had claimed the deadly suicide bombing.
Meanwhile, three bodies were still lying at the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar, whose identification could not be ascertained.DHQ Hospital Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Gul Naseeb said that there were a total of eight bodies in which five were identified, who were later taken by their relatives for burial.
Also, Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former senator Liaqat Baloch has condemned the suicide bombing on JUIF workers’ convention and demanded the government to arrest the perpetrators and award them exemplary punishment.
Expressing his condolences over the deaths of innocent people, he said that it was a conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan and sabotage the Pakistan-China Economic corridor project.He urged the government to take practical steps for eliminating the menace of terrorism and militancy and ensure peace to the law-abiding people.
