Effective security in twin cities during Ashura lauded
Islamabad: Interior Minister, Rana Sanaullah Khan, and Inspector General of Police (IGP), lauded the performance of the officers and officials of the Islamabad Capital Police for their commendable efforts in ensuring fool proof security arrangements during Ashura Muharram-ul-Haram in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the police spokesman said.
While, in Rawalpindi, Chief Commissioner, Regional Police Officer (RPO) and other operational and operational officers, appreciated the police, Rangers and other paramilitary forces for their role in providing comprehensive peace, a police spokesman said.
IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan lauded the exemplary performance of CPO Operations, SSP Operations, all DPOs, traffic staff, officers, and officials for their vigilant efforts in maintaining law and order during the Muharram-ul-Haram processions. The IGP said that, thanks to the meticulous planning and coordination, no untoward incident occurred in the city during the processions. The heavy contingent of police cordoned off all the processions, and the security plan was diligently followed.
The officers, including DPOs, SDPOs, Incharge Police Stations, and other police personnel, personally visited the procession routes, ensuring effective coordination and guidance to ensure a safe environment. He expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of security measures, which involved close coordination with peace committees, congregation and procession organizers. The cooperation between the police and law enforcement agencies, as well as the use of metal detectors and other technical resources to check participants, contributed to the peaceful conduct of all Muharram-related events.
He further said that, the Quick Response Force remained on high alert to handle any emergencies, and the safe city surveillance cameras meticulously monitored all procession routes. The bomb disposal squad conducted thorough checks with the latest technology, assuring the safety and security of the participants. Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan reiterated the commitment of Islamabad Capital Police to maintain law and order in the federal capital, ensuring the protection of citizens' lives and properties. He assured that any elements attempting to disrupt the peace of the citizens would not be allowed to prevail.
