Condemns Bajaur blast

Caretaker chief minister has strongly condemned blast targeting the JUI Workers Convention at Khar in the area of Bajaur. He expressed his deep grief over the loss of precious human lives in the blast. Mohsin Naqvi expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolence with the heirs of the deceased persons and prayed for an early recovery of the injured. Mohsin Naqvi remarked that the Punjab government equally share the grief of the heirs of the deceased persons. Those playing with the lives of the innocent people do not deserve to be called human beings.

Our correspondent from Gujranwala adds: Caretaker chief minister visited Gujranwala and inspected the ongoing construction works on Gujranwala Motorway Link Road Project.

The CM directed the departments concerned to speed up the work on the project and said that high construction standards should be ensured in the Gujranwala Motorway Link Road project, additional resources should be utilised to complete the project within the stipulated period, he said. He also visited under-construction Gujranwala Motorway Link Road Project.

In the briefing, the chief minister was informed that the issues hindering the early construction of this Rs11 billion project had been resolved amicably, all resources were being utilised to complete the project within 90 days, modern travel facilities would save time and fuel and reduce traffic congestion on GT Road.

The chief minister while talking to the media after visiting the Gujranwala Motorway Link Road Project said that despite the rains, the project would be completed within the stipulated time and the work had been delayed due to the rains, but it would be completed by working day and night and Gujranwala would soon be linked with the Motorway.

The CM said that election matters were related to the Election Commission. He said that the shuttle service had started between the two hospitals of Gujranwala while the lack of HR in the hospitals will be met. The CM said the preliminary investigation of the Islamia University Bahawalpur incident had been completed, those responsible would be severely punished. He said if necessary, a judicial inquiry would also be conducted, the police had been fully empowered.

Provincial Minister Bilal Afzal, Chief Secretary, Commissioner Gujranwala Division, RPO, Secretary Construction and Communications, DC, DPO and other officers were also present on the occasion.
