Three events – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit, uncovering of a RAW agent and the progress made in the Pathankot investigation – made headlines across our borders. But the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park blast in Lahore dwarfs all of them. The blast has taken international observers’ attention off all these promising happenings.
It seems the PML-N government’s priority is to portray Pakistan as a country where minority communities are not safe. This is the loud and clear message that the international community has picked up from the half-hearted efforts that the government has mounted to catch the culprits of the incident. We should also take notice of the timing of the blast and investigate the matter thoroughly.
