PESHAWAR: The chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, Sirajul Haq, has said the report of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has not hinted at but directly named the Muttahida Qaumi Movement for involvement in the Baldia Town arson incident in Karachi.
While submitting nomination papers for the Senate election, the JI chief told the media that the spokesman for the Inter-Services Public Relations has thoroughly discussed the killing of women, children and other people in the factory fire.
He claimed the incident was linked to refusal to pay Rs150 million extortion and held the MQM responsible for it.Sirajul Haq said the MQM chief Altaf Hussain should apologise to the children and loved ones of the victims of the Baldia town factory incident instead of apologising to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf head Imran Khan.
“The sad thing is that the Sindh government instead of taking the side of the victims has invited MQM to rejoin the government,” said the JI amir.Sirajul Haq added that the government should also probe the attack on the Army Public School and College like that of the Baldia fire incident.
He said the Election Commission of Pakistan should tell the people as to what has been done to stop the use of money in the Senate election as holding transparent polls is the duty of the commission.Sirajul Haq said terrorism is condemnable in all forms and manifestations and it needed to be eliminated. He demanded action against the terrorists to restore peace.
