Parks to remain closed for 3 days in Multan

MULTAN: The City District Administration has ordered closing of all recreational parks in the district for three days after the Lahore tragedy.
It was decided in a meeting chaired by DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal here on Monday. It was decided that parks would remain open in early morning hours for walk. The meeting also discussed security situation in all parks. It was decided that the parks would be opened after completion of security measures.
Compensation for mango growers demanded

MULTAN: The Mango Growers Association has demanded the government provide immediate relief and compensation to those farmers who were affected from recent rains and hailstorms.
Talking to journalists here on Monday, MGA president Syed Zahid Hussain Gardezi said that difficulties of agriculture community had been increased with the passage of time due to alleged unconcerned attitude of the government and policy makers. He said that bureaucracy and the ruling elite class were unconcerned about the fate of farmers who were consecutively losing their daily income due to multiple failures of the government policies and natural catastrophes. He demanded the government launch an inquiry into alleged misappropriation of compensation funds. Zahid Hussain Gardezi said that recent rains and hailstorms in South Punjab, particularly a belt from Bund Bosan and Rawan stretching till the outskirts of Shujabad, had been proved devastated. He said that it was very unfortunate that this Tsunami of destruction had gone unnoticed while a new package for agriculture had been aired as a political respite. He demanded transparent check and balance through the concerned sector.
