3 alleged fraudsters deprive people of Rs 10m

CHAKWAL: Three alleged fraudsters took away over Rs 10 million from more than 100 people in the name of Umra here.

Accused Muhammad Usman, Ahsan Saleem and Amir Sohail opened a travel agency at the TMA Plaza and started bookings for Umra. The alleged fraudsters announced 21 days Umra package in Rs 93,000. At this, more than 100 people deposited advance amount and other documents at their office. Later, the accused persons also issued fake tickets of an airline and received all remaining amount from different people, including Fazal Hussain Khan, Ameer Allah Dad, Nadeem Javed, who is disabled, and Farzand Ibrahim. The affectees told media on Saturday that the alleged fraudsters had closed their office some 10 days ago and their mobile phones were also switched off. They said that when they went to the residents of the alleged fraudsters, they found them locked. Ameer Allah Dad, one affectee, has filed an application with the FIA director and appealed to arrest the alleged fraudsters immediately besides recovering their money. It is pertinent to mention here that the alleged fraudsters had not paid their office rent for the last six months and the TMA had pasted a notice on the door of their office to clear their dues.
