640kg rotten meat confiscated

Rawalpindi: The local management has recovered 640 kilograms of rotten meat coming from Mandi Bahauddin to Rawalpindi on Thursday. 

An FIR has been registered against two butchers with the Gujar Khan Police Station. 

Punjab Livestock Department (Director) Dr. Farrukh said that this was not the first time that unhygienic meat was caught by the officials.

“The butchers wanted to sell this meat at Pirwadhai,” he claimed.  “The officials have been seizing rotten meat coming from different cities through motorway to Rawalpindi city. “We have filed an FIR against two butchers with the Gujar Khan Police Station,” he claimed.  ‘The News’ learnt that some areas where shopkeepers were found selling unhygienic meat, include Ganjmandi, Dhoke Kala Khan, Dhoke Hassu, Dhoke Najju, Dhoke Matkial, Pirwadhai, Hazara Colony, Sadiqabad, Adiala Road and Gorakhpur.
