NBP installs ATM at National Press Club

National Bank of Pakistan President Syed Ahmed Iqbal Ashraf has said that the bank would install 'detective machines' at its branches to discard fake currency notes in the larger interest of public.

“We are working to upgrade the capacity of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and modernise the infrastructure of NBP to meet the standard of international banking, he said while addressing the inauguration of the ATM facility in the precinct of the National Press Club,  Islamabad, on Thursday.  President of National Press Club Shakeel Anjum, Secretary Imran Dhilun and bank officials, including Mudassir H. Khan, Nabeel Saeed and  Farooq Hassan were present on the occasion.

He said that the NBP is committed to facilitate people and provide them better service in urban and rural areas of the country.

Syed Ahmed Iqbal said that the NBP has given ATM cards to the 250,000 pensioners all over the country to facilitate them to get their pensions in a respectful way.

The NBP president said that the National Press Club, Islamabad, is the first press club of the country where the NBP has installed an ATM machine to facilitate journalists.

The NBP and the media have shared history of cooperation and coordination rooted in decades and “we want to enhance the joint cooperation between the two institutions in future.”

Speaking on the occasion, National Press Club President Shakeel Anjum welcomed the NBP president appreciating the cooperation of the bank in providing the ATM facility for journalists in the club. He stressed on the need for more cooperation between the two in future.

On the occasion, NPC Secretary Imran Ahmad Dhillon welcomed the efforts of NBP for journalists and stressed on the need for enhancing cooperation in future as well.
