KARACHI: Reon Energy Limited has installed a 5.5kWp Off-Grid Solar Solution for Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital in Hub, a statement said on Thursday. The project sponsored by Hub Power Company Limited (Hubco) will provide 24-hour power to the emergency and labour rooms.

“The emergency room at this hospital caters to more than 1,500 people monthly, whilst more than 240 maternity cases are managed here every month. The project currently runs 25 bulbs, 12 fans and other devices,” said Dr Abbas Lasi, an official at the hospital. This solar solution, aside from bringing energy security and availability to areas where there is none, will also result in cost savings for the hospital.

Reon Energy CEO Inam ur Rahman said, “At Reon we see every rooftop as a possible producer of electricity. Solar energy can help transform the quality of healthcare at an institutional level, especially for those in the off-grid areas of Pakistan.”

This is the second collaborative venture between Hubco and Reon. Earlier, Reon also provided a solar solution for TCF School Hubco IPGDL Campus.
