Helping the homeless

May 19, 2023

Homelessness is a growing crisis that affects individuals and families across our cities and towns. It is a complex issue that cannot be solved overnight, but demands our attention and action as a society. Homelessness can be caused by a variety of factors, including job loss, mental illness, addiction and lack of affordable housing. It is a problem that requires a multi-faceted approach, including the provision of emergency shelter, support services, and affordable housing options.

One solution is to provide affordable housing for low-income individuals and families. Governments can invest in building more public housing, and also offer subsidies and tax incentives to encourage private developers to build more affordable housing. Another solution is to provide support services, such as healthcare, job training, and counselling, to help individuals experiencing homelessness get back on their feet.
