No excuses

What happened across the country as a reaction to the arrest of PTI supremo Imran Khan is extremely condemnable and shameful. The attacks on the state installations, public places and private locations are unfortunate and illogical. Whoever made them resort to such violent actions deserves to be treated severely under the relevant laws. The PTI supporters and workers should have observed peaceful protests, which is their democratic and constitutional right.

However, it must be said that Imran Khan’s arrest was quite dubious and conducted in a very arbitrary manner. The authorities should review their procedures and ensure that politicians cannot just be manhandled and picked up at any random time. That being said, the behaviour of the PTI supporters is still inexcusable.
