Attempt to remove illegal gas pipeline
SNGPL team attacked by villagers

GUJRANWALA: A SNGPL team was allegedly attacked by dozens of villagers when the team tried to remove illegal gas pipeline at Mattu Bhaike on Monday.
The SNGPL authorities were informed that some influential had allegedly connected their gas pipeline with the main gas pipeline and were allegedly busy supplying gas to dozens of houses of villagers illegally. When the Sui gas team, led by Engineer Kifaitullah, reached the spot and tried to disconnect the gas pipeline, dozens of villagers allegedly attacked the raiding party and forced them to go back. Later, on the report of the raiding party, the SNGPL authorities have started legal action against the accused persons.
UC SECY HELD FOR TAKING BRIBE: Anti-Corruption Establishment circle officer Amir Sindhu along with Magistrate Malik Saleem raided and caught UC No 9 secretary Umar Bashir red-handed when he was taking Rs 4,500 as a bribe from a citizen.
Complainant Muhammad Asif in his application alleged that accused UC secretary Umar Bashir was demanding Rs 4,500 from him as a bribe for issuance of birth certificate. At this, the team raided and arrested the UC secretary.
