Heavy rain inundates govt girls school
From Our Correspondent
JHANG: Heavy rain inundated the Government Girls Elementary School, Basti Diwanwali, on Saturday night.
The class rooms, washrooms, playground and covered and uncovered area of the school were submerged in rainwater. The school compound was already inundated with two to three feet water due to the last week’s rainfall. Now, the situation has become worst because the TMA officials have allegedly failed to drain out rainwater from the school.
The school administration along with parents contacted the district administration and the TMA for draining out rainwater but the officials allegedly did not pay attention to the issue.
Meanwhile, the parents and residents of Basti Diwanwali protested and appealed to the chief minister, the chief secretary and the Local Government Department secretary to look into the matter and order the authorities concerned to immediately drain out the rainwater.
When contacted, TMO Asad Shah, TO (I&S) Aslam and Sanitary Inspector Rashid did not attend their phones despite repeated attempts.
