Students urged to devote themselves to knowledge

FAISALABAD: German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Islamabad Director Lars Bergmeyer has urged the students to devote themselves to knowledge.
Addressing a special lecture about study in Germany at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad here on Saturday, he said that education was the only way to development whereas Germany did not charge tuition fees of most of the courses even from the international students. Talking about advantages to study in Germany, he said that quality of education was high and there was no tuition fee throughout the term in 95 per cent programmes. He said that Germany was having the oldest educational institutions. Learning the German language was not necessary if you were opting for any course in English, he said, adding that there were 900 courses in English in Germany. He said that Germany had more than 400 recognised higher education institutions. The application process was fairly easy, he added. He lauded the UAF for being the partner of German programme in Pakistan and said that it had made tremendous progress in the development of the country. He said that the German scholarship could be won through Germany, the European Union and the HEC.
ORIC Director Dr Muhammad Aslam said that the research portfolio of the country had crossed billions of rupees. He said that the UAF was enjoying good relations across the globe and the DAAD partnership with the UAF would further strengthen the agriculture sector in Pakistan.
Directorate of Financial Assistance Director Dr Hafeez Sadaqat and others also spoke on the occasion.
