DUBAI: Former president General (R) Pervez Musharraf Saturday said he was not afraid of cases against him and will get back home soon after ‘recovery’.

He said this while talking to people who visited his residence here to inquire after him.

Musharraf said the Supreme Court had allowed him to travel abroad and was positive that justice would be delivered in other cases as well.

“I was born to serve the country. I don’t want to spend even a single day outside my motherland after my recovery. Good health is essential for doing work and treatment is essential for good health,” he said.

Musharraf said investment was a must for national development.

“The country can’t be run with loans; loans have to be paid back with interest. We will fetch investment from rich countries on the basis of relations and trust,” he added.

He remarked that those who had plundered the national wealth and purchased properties abroad would meet utter failure in the upcoming elections.

“We will emerge as the third political power and steer the country towards the right direction, he added.
