Polio worker injured in dog attack

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A female polio worker was injured when a dog attacked her at Jatwala village, some 15km from Taunsa Sharif on Thursday.
Polio workers Nasreen Kausar and Nazeer Begum were on duty in the village. They entered the house of Shahzad Ahmad for administering anti-polio drops to the children when his pet dog attacked Nasreen. As a result, she was injured. On information, police and rescue officials rushed to the spot and shifted the injured polio worker to a hospital. Police have arrested Shahzad Ahmad, his wife Nadia Bibi and mother Taj Bibi and registered a case against them.
On the other hand, Shahzad Ahmad said that his dog was wandering in the house when it attacked the polio worker. He said that he was not involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken a notice of the incident and directed the Taunsa Sharif assistant commissioner to submit a report to him in 24 hours.
