This refers to the letter, ‘Dead animals’ (March 11) by Cdre (r) Sajjad Ali Shah Bokhari. The writer has pointed out that dead animals are being left to rot for weeks along GT Road and the authorities concerned do not take the trouble to remove them.
It seems after the strict action taken by the Punjab Food Department against the sale of adulterated meat, butchers are no more interested in picking up dead animals for fear of being arrested. Otherwise, no dead animal would have been seen lying by the side of the road even for a single day.
