LAHORE
Two persons were killed by a speeding trailer in the Manga Mandi area on Tuesday.
Two persons, including Ibrahim and Iftikhar were on their way on a bike when a rashly-driven trailer ran over them, as a result of which, both received fatal injuries. They were shifted to hospital where both the persons were pronounced dead. Police shifted the bodies to morgue.
ACCIDENTS: Total 649 road traffic accidents were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which 13 lives were lost and 538 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts. However, some 224 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by emergency medical teams.
NOTICES: CTO Lahore Tuesday issued show-cause notices to the sector in-charge Shera Kot and a warden for not taking appropriate measures against wrong parking and encroachments.
He also announced cash prizes for three patrolling officers for performing their duties honestly. The CTO had taken the aforesaid decisions during his visit to Shera Kot, Township, Model Town and other parts of the area.
CTO also visited the construction areas of Orange Line Train Route, including Napier Road, Laxmi Chowk and Haji Camp, Boharwala Chowk to review the traffic arrangements. He also deployed three additional patrolling officers at the site to remove encroachments and wrong parking.
