PO killed in encounter

KASUR: A proclaimed offender was killed in an encounter with police on Wan Adan Road on Tuesday.
According to police, Yousaf, a resident of Bath Kalan village in Sarai Mughal police limits, made a call to Rescue-15 regarding snatching of a motorcycle and Rs 8,000 by three dacoits. After the call, police rushed to the spot and started chasing the dacoits. Police spotted the dacoits at a picket but they resorted to indiscriminate firing and fled away. However, police continued the chase.
In the meantime, Pattoki City police post in-charge SI Noor Ahmad and other policemen came across the dacoits. Seeing the police party, the dacoits opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, a dacoit was injured while his accomplices fled. The injured dacoit died on way to a hospital. He was later identified as proclaimed offender Adnan alias Dani. He was wanted by Lahore and Kasur police in more than 14 cases of robbery, dacoity and illegal weapons.
