SC disposes of Fasih’s petition against former CJP
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday disposed of a petition filed by Admiral (retd) Fasih Bukhari, former chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), against former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry over withdrawal. The five-member larger bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, heard the case.
During the course of proceedings, Babar Awan appeared before the bench and stated that his client wanted to withdraw his application as the former chief justice has retired.On this, the court disposed of the petition. It may be mentioned here that the former NAB chairman had written a letter to the president against the former chief justice. On which, former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry issued a contempt of court notice to Fasih Bukhari. Fasih Bukhari filed a petition and prayed that the former chief justice should not hear the case.
