Anti-polio campaign begins in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: A five-day anti-polio campaign started amid tight security here on Monday.
As many as 870,000 children under five years of age would be administered polio drops during the campaign. Total 1,797 teams had been made for the drive, which would vaccinate the children at railway stations, bus stands and through door-to-door campaign. Earlier, the DCO directed all the departments concerned to cooperate with the polio teams to get the desired results. He also directed the police officers to provide necessary security to the polio teams.
CALL TO ACHIEVE TARGETS THROUGH PLANNING: Commissioner Muhammad Asif has said that we can achieve our all targets and goals through comprehensive planning, struggle and honesty.
He said this while addressing a 14-member delegation of under-training officers here on Monday. The commissioner said that honesty was a key to success. He said that on the Punjab CM’s directions, all government machinery had been activated to resolve the problems being faced by the people. He asked the under-training officers to serve the masses. He also briefed the officers about the working of the Commissioner Office, divisional profile, administration set up and targets and achievements of the divisional administrations. Additional Commissioner Coordination Shahzad Saeed, AC (G) Zaheer Liaqat and other officers were also present.
