PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain Sunday said that the provincial government had failed to come up to people’s expectations and this was the reason that people were joining the party in great number.
He was speaking at a function in Bacha Khan Markaz here on Sunday wherein some senior members of different political parties announced joining the Awami National Party, said a communiqué.
Those joined the Awami National Party included Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader from Dag Ismailkhel area of Nowshera district Siddique Khattak, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ziauz Zaman and others.
Mian Iftikhar said that the 2013 general elections were snatched from Awami National Party through a conspiracy.
He said that the so-called champions of change could not fix their direction in three years of their rule in the province.
The people have been suffering from the worst governance during the last three years, which has caused disappointment and unrest among them. He said that the situation in the war-ravaged province was going from bad to worse and the provincial rights were facing serious threats.
He said that only Awami National Party had the will and capability to protect the rights of the Pakhtuns.
