Govt uplift efforts lauded

OKARA: MNA Chaudhry Riazul Haq Juj Saturday lauded uplift projects initiated by the PML-N government in the country.
Talking to reporters, the MNA said the government was making all-out efforts to bring prosperity in the country in the form of constructing the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor, combating terrorism, overcoming energy crisis, and making the country an economic hub globally.
But, he said, some elements were against this development and they check this uplift through protests.
DEPTS ALERTED: The District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saturday alerted all relevant departments to cope with expected rain-related situation in the district.
Chairing a meeting of the District Emergency Board and other departments, the DCO advised the heads of the departments to keep on standby the machinery in the district to remove rain water and garbage from sewerage lines. He said a control room has been established to monitor the situation. Earlier, the DCO inaugurated an anti-polio campaign at the DHQ Hospital and enquired about the health and welfare of patients admitted to the hospital. AC Tahir Amin, EDO (Health) Dr Javed Ahmad Goraya, DO (Health) Dr Muhammad Irshad Mahar, Medical Superintendent DHQ Hospital Dr Muhammad Aslam Kaim Khani and the representative WHO Dr Zeeshan were also present on the occasion.
